The short version
We collect your email when you ask us to. We collect your assessment answers so we can build your path. We don't sell anything to anyone, we don't train AI models on your data, and you can have all of it deleted by asking.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address — only when you type it into the founding list or ask us to email you your path. Used to send you that path, to tell you when deposits open, and to send cohort news. Nothing else.
- Your assessment answers — teaching mode, experience level, and what you can already demonstrate. Used to build your personalized path and to price it. Stored in your own browser as you answer; sent to us only if you ask for the results by email.
- Body profile figures — height, build, and limb proportions, if you choose to enter them. Used to render your body in the pose and, later, to choose which modifications you're taught. Every field is optional.
- Health information — injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, hypermobility, blood pressure, if you choose to tell us. Used only to decide what is safe to show and teach you. Never shown in the public directory, never shared with other students, never used for marketing.
- Basic request data — the country your request came from and the page that referred you, logged with a signup so we know which pages work.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. There is no version of this where your email ends up on a list you didn't join.
- We don't train AI models on your data — not your answers, not your body profile, not your health information, not your practicum recording. If that ever changes it will be opt-in, and opt-in means you actively say yes, not that we buried it in an update.
- We don't put body or health information in the teacher directory. The directory shows what you teach and where. Nothing about your body.
- We don't run third-party advertising trackers on the lesson pages.
Recordings and biometric data
Two features involve data the law treats as especially sensitive, and neither is switched on by default:
- Your practicum recording. Watched by the named faculty reviewer assessing you, and kept as the evidence behind your credential. Every student in the room must consent in writing before you record. Not published, not used in marketing, and not shown to anyone outside the review.
- Photos, body scans, and voice cloning. Not in use today. When they are, each requires its own explicit opt-in, with an explanation of what is generated and stored, and a one-click deletion that removes the underlying model and not just the output.
How long we keep it
- Founding list emails — until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
- Assessment answers — in your browser until you clear it; on our side, only if you emailed yourself the results.
- Practicum recordings — kept while your credential is active, because the credential is only as good as the evidence behind it. Deletable on request, which withdraws the credential.
Getting your data, or getting rid of it
Email privacy@yoga.org and ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We'll do it and confirm when it's done. You don't need to give a reason, and you don't need to be a paying member.
Who processes it
The site runs on Cloudflare, signup records are stored in Cloudflare's key-value storage, and notification email is sent through Resend. These providers process data on our instructions in order to run the service. Nobody else receives it.
Children
This is a professional certification for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and it will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, anyone on the founding list is emailed before it takes effect. We won't quietly widen what we're allowed to do with data you already gave us.
